There are 30 lodges in the 8th District in Clarke, Elbert, Franklin, Greene, Hart, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Putnam, Walton, and Wilkes counties. The district officers are in full support of the Masonic Home of Georgia, GACHIP, and Welfare of the lodges and its members. There are over 2,600 Masons in the 8th District.

The Officers of the 8th District are together in forming a bond between the lodges that represents the brotherhood that we all enjoy. The convention is usually hosted by the lodge of which the District Master is a member. There is usually 4 meetings a year, one at each quarter and the convention which is held on the third Saturday in May.

Our annual convention was held on May 17, 2008 at Philomathea Lodge #25 and hosted by Primrose Lodge #79 where the slate of officers was elected for the years 2008-2009.

Our annual convention will be held on May 16, 2009 at John H Jones Lodge #348 in Danielsville. The registration will begin at 8:00 A.M.

We recognized the Past Master of the Year which was WB Joe Ward DDGM. And we will recognize a new one next year.

We Provide for a State District Director of Meld.
WB Dennis Gueth is the State Director for our Meld Team appointed by the Grand Master. Bro Gueth has appointed a team of brothers to the Program and Education committee. WB Steve Wooten and WB Michael Zahn are our District Directors of Meld.

We Provide for a Board of Trustee to the Masonic Home
WB Joe Clark is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees to the Masonic Home. He brings back reports from the Home periodically.

We Provide a Trial Commission of 15 Members
WB Ken Macris is the chairman of the Trial Commission and WB Dennis Helmrich is the vice chairman.

We Provide an Endowment Fund Committee
WB Joe Johnson is the chairman of the Endowment Fund Committee. There is a committee of three.

We provide for a Board of Relief
WB Joe Johnson is also the chairman for this committee.
